Pipe Dreams

For every success there can be multiple failures. Sometimes we have great ideas that never manifest. Even though I had done my due diligence on more traveling to bring you quilt shops all over the country, things simply did not work out.  So rather than pouting I went to work in my studio and I should have a new handbag pattern available shortly!!!  Stay tuned on my Ideas & Inspirations Blog for it's upcoming release.

Never give up on your dreams . . . sometimes they just steer you in another direction!

Much Love,

Quilts On Broadway - Foley, MN

What a great facade! Barb Erickson (owner) told me her Mom painted the window trim. Awesome!

I am a green girl, always have been, love them all. But when they are arranged in a gradation like this . . . WOW! Simply beautiful!

A couple of sweet samples.
Are you ready for Christmas?
Oooooh! Love this apron. How cute would this be while you're preparing your Thanksgiving meal. Or any meal?

I have to admit I spent some time ooohing and aaahing over this beauty!

Here's the bigger picture . . . still ooohing and aaahing . . .

Quilting services available in this shop!

Winter is big here in Minnesota . . . I love the looks of this quilt celebrating the season.

I am always delighted to see the products of my blog sponsors in the shops I visit. More bean counter Quilts patterns here!

I want to thank Barb Erickson (shop owner) for her generous donation to my travels and for allowing me to pay her a visit on short notice! Thanks so very much Barb!

Mothers Originals Quilt Shop - Pequot Lakes, MN

It's a rainy day here in Pequot Lakes Minnesota but you'll feel heart warmed once you step inside Mother Originals Quilt Shop.

Extra nice "Up North/Minnesota" themed room.

Winter is what's its about here and I think I saw snow on the ground here this morning!

Two long arm machines!
I personally love this collection of rich textural neutrals.
There's an awesome kids fabric room too!
Being a 'horsey girl' myself this fabric made me smile!
Great idea for Christmas gifts, here you see a special pillowcase for the holiday season.
Hexagon 'cheater' with coordinates.

Nice selection for your sports fans!
I was delighted to find a large selection of Hobbs batting!

Click here or on the image to visit the Hobbs website for more info on this wonderful product!

And now for the grand finale of the visit to this shop. Mary the shop owner has two children that are quilting and winning prizes with their quilts!
This quilt was made by Mary's daughter Dana age 7. Isn't it awesome?

And this beauty was hand painted and quilted by her 13 year old daughter Morena!

Here's a close up. The quilt is titled, "Kingdom of The Crimson Dragons"
I think these quilts are amazing! Mary, thank you for sharing the work of your talented daughters with us all!

If you like the work of these two young quilters please leave a comment for them below!

Sew Pieceful Quilting - Tomahawk, WI

Hi Everyone! I'm in beautiful Tomahawk Wisconsin at Sew Pieceful Quilting!

It's a lovely fall day and the scarecrow is welcoming me.
Meet shop owner Marie Daigle.
Here's the view from the front door. Gotta love those beautiful wood floors and the fabric collections not bad either!

Christmas ideas! Tis the season.
And speaking of Christmas, did you know my friend Lorrie Franz from bean counter quilts has a #1 selling pattern out right now? Here it is and you can get it here at Sew Pieceful!
Now here's something you don't find in every quilt shop, this is Alpaca Wool from an Alpaca farm just south of Tomahawk. (Or did she say lamas?) Anyway it's lovely and hand dyed too!
Great supply of fat quarters!
Special corner just for the little ones in our lives.

A great source of "Up North" themed fabrics.
Of course I am always delighted to see one of my own Scrap-bags patterns in a shop!! This is Button Bows & Yo-Yo's a great learning quilt with easy piecing, easy applique and optional Yo-Yo's.

We Are All at the Beginning of a Wonderful Journey . . .

And in the words of Jim Henson:

“I really do believe that all of you are at the beginning of a wonderful journey.  As you start traveling down that road of life, remember this: There are never enough comfort stops. The places you’re going to are never on the map. And once you get that map out, you won’t be able to re-fold it no matter how smart you are. So forget the map, roll down the windows, and whenever you can pull over and have a picnic with a pig...”

Back On The Road Again?

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I've done any traveling and I am considering getting back on the road again. I am thinking about adding video interviews with shop owners to the posts. I'm wondering if that's something you'd enjoy?

Also, I'd love suggestions for questions you'd like me to ask in my interviews.
Please leave your question suggestions in the comments link below.  I want to know what you all think!

Thanks so very much!
